Kathi,

I am unaware of coffee table book on Lortondale. That would be shocking, yet welcome news. The largest concentration of knowledge on the neighborhood currently lives here in the neighborhood and none of us know about it, it might be the Historic Tulsa Homes book series. You should be able google Ed's name and search for his thesis that way.

Where does your daughter and her boyfriend live?

My daughter and her boyfriend bought a home in Lortondale a year ago.
They have gone to great lengths to remain respectful of the original intent and their place is beautiful. A friend in Tulsa said she had seen a cocktail table book on Lortondale somewhere. I have not been able to locate it. Do you have any ideas about this book? If it exists I would like to buy it for a gift. Also, where would I access the thesis written by Ed Sharer?

I'm moving into a house in lortondale this weekend (nov 19, 2010) and I'm looking forward to meeting the neighbors. I used to run the second largest historical district in the United States, so if I can ever be of service to your group let me know.
Sincerely,
Court

I think that Ed Sharer's OU Master Thesis is our best resource to date. Soon we should have the submittal to the Dept. of Interior [SHIPO} for National Resigister status.
